Broccoli Salad






With the holidays coming up many of you will be attending functions where you are to bring a dish. I always bring this to our family reunions and Glades Gas Company parties and everyone raves about it. I am always asked if I would share this recipe so here it is. This salad is the replica of the Broccoli Salad found on the salad bar at Ruby Tuesdays.

Broccoli Salad

1 small red onion
½ pound bacon – cooked until risp then crumbled
¼ cup sugar
2 Tbsp white vinegar
½ cup mayonnaise
½ cup cheddar cheese shredded
1 bunch fresh broccoli
½ cup pecans toasted

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Lightly spray baking sheet with cooking spray.
To toast pecans, put them on a baking sheet and toast them just until they become aromatic, about 5 minutes.
You have to watch them carefully as they are easily scorched.

Mix all together and let sit for at least an hour.
