Since Glades Gas has such great customers, we thought we would focus on them for a while with our customer profiles!
Recently, I visited Dixie Fried Chicken and Grace was kind enough to give me some of her time. Her son Greg Carden and she manage the store.
Dixie Fried Chicken is located on 133 SW Avenue E here in Belle Glade. Billy Bryant Sr. started the business 41 years ago, and Billy Bryant Jr. currently owns Dixie Fried. He and his father have been loyal customers of Glades Gas for as long as we can remember. Their fried chicken and seafood is second to none; according to Grace, the secret is in the batter! She and Billy Jr. are the only two that know the secret that was developed over 40 years ago.
If you’re looking for something fresh, try one of their daily specials! The girls in the kitchen were eager to share how much of a hit the catfish fingers and wingettes are. They said the hot mustard is a must! Grace takes pride in claiming “I have the cleanest kitchen in town”; I was completely amazed at the cleanliness.
Lucinda, who works the front line, shared with me that she enjoys her 16 years of work with the Bryant family. She also stated that Patricia has been working with her for 14 years. To retain employees for this length of time, I see as a reflection of the good character of the owners.
Their hours are:
Sun-Thur — 10-9
Fri-Sat —— 10-10
Dixie Fried Chicken uses LP gas to power all their fryers. We appreciate their long lasting commitment to Glades Gas and will continue to support them in their endeavors. When you stop by, be sure and tell them you saw their profile by Glades Gas.
